NAISH Hover Chimera 2027 – one board for everything

Wing, surf foil, parawing, tow foil. Four disciplines, four different requirements for a board. And this is exactly where the new NAISH Hover Chimera 2027 comes into play. For 2027, Naish completely redesigned the Chimera. The goal was simple: retain its easy take-off, add speed and efficiency when getting onto the foil, while making the board shorter, more compact and more maneuverable.

More Volume, Less Board

Compared to the previous generation, the NAISH Chimera 2027 is shorter and wider, especially in the rear section. This allows it to retain the necessary volume and stability while getting onto a plane more quickly. The wider tail helps with low-speed take-offs, while the more compact dimensions reduce swing weight. Once you are on the foil, the board feels lighter and more maneuverable.

Thought-Out Rocker and Bottom Design

The rocker has also been revised. There is more rocker in both the nose and tail along the centerline, which helps with pumping and getting the board into levitation. In the rail area, the rocker remains flatter to avoid unnecessarily increasing drag during take-off. The bottom of the board also draws inspiration from the design of the downwind model Odyssey DW. The front section features a convex hull that transitions into a more pronounced edge, while the rear approximately 40% is flat.

The result should be a more efficient take-off, better pumping and cleaner behavior during touchdowns.

Parawing as One of the Main Reasons

The NAISH Chimera 2027 was designed with parawing in mind. Its short, compact shape is a major advantage for this discipline – less board gets in the way while there is still enough stability for launching. This is why Naish describes the Chimera as a one-board, all-disciplines platform. It is designed for wing, surf foil, parawing, downwind and tow foil.

Eight Sizes

The Chimera 2027 is available in 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 95, 110 and 130 liters.

The construction uses a hybrid carbon composite, with 13" foil tracks, multiple Y-strap adjustment options and handles on the larger sizes. The wide standing area is designed for a comfortable strapless stance as well as traditional use with straps.

One Chimera Instead of Several Boards?

That is the main idea behind the entire Chimera 2027. If you enjoy wing, surf foil, parawing or tow and don't want to have a separate board for every discipline, the Chimera offers an interesting compromise. It is shorter, fast to take off, stable where needed, and at the same time compact and maneuverable enough on the foil.
