Compared to the TAO2 ,the AVID is clear choice for freestyle. It has a noticeably better roll and excellent acceleration, which is key for dynamic tricks and quick direction changes. It feels livelier, more sensitive, and more playful in your hands. It is more agile when riding waves and follows the rider more precisely in tight turns.

The main difference in technology: While AVID relies on a modern, stiff and extremely lightweight material that gives it playfulness and agility, TAO2 uses a more robust construction with Double Dacron, which is focused on maximum stability in extreme drag and Big Air.

Technology and materials

The wing is designed with an emphasis on maximum performance, long life and precise control even in demanding conditions. The basis of the AVID wing is the revolutionary UX 10 composite material. The wing construction uses an advanced composite of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (Dyneema) combined with aramid fibers (Kevlar). The result is a material that is up to 45% lighter than classic Dacron, but at the same time significantly stiffer.

Thanks to this, the wing perfectly holds its shape even at high speeds and power loads, which brings more precise steering, better stability and more efficient power transfer.

UPE Aramid is highly resistant to UV, abrasion, and moisture, ensuring long-term performance in marine environments.

The canopy is made of Teijin D2. The double ripstop polyester structure ensures high strength, tear resistance and excellent UV stability. With a weight of around 50 g/m², it offers the ideal combination of low weight for easy handling and sufficient stiffness for dynamic riding - the perfect choice for freestyle and freeride.
